Children's Chapter 2011: A Huge Success |
|
On March 19, 2011, the Jacksonville Public Library Foundation hosted the annual Children's Chapter event in the main library with a great turnout. Local authors Catherine Burkee, Katie Monnin, Jane Wood and Robert Melosh and, of course, our National Book Award winning author Kimberly Willis Holt entertained the children with exciting art activities and readings. Clifford the Big Red Dog and Miss Rosa from PBS Preschool Block also stopped by to join in the fun! Check out some pictures in our Children's Chapter 2011 photo gallery.
A special thanks to all of our community partners, our co-chairs, Dana Welcker and Justin Taylor, and to everyone else who helped raise awareness to early childhood literacy. Already looking forward to next year!

The format for our community literary festival, Much Ado About Books, is under review for 2011 and beyond. Therefore, we are not soliciting authors at this time.
The Jacksonville Library Foundation is pleased to announce the success of our annual Children's Chapter event! On March 19, thanks to the generosity of our presenting sponsor, Target Corporation, this year's Children's Chapter took place at the Main Library in downtown Jacksonville. Five guest authors held readings and scheduled book signings. The day was filled with fun, educational activities and, of course, books!
